SYNCHRONY
Completed in 2018 by Goondiwindi State High School
'Under One Sky' is the culmination of seventy-eight students across years 7-12 from Goondiwindi State High School collaborating to design and paint a mural featuring stylized mechanical shapes and forms.
Art teachers Cathy Woods and Lesley Hawker selected and composed the design by reconstructing individual students’ imagery from a Year 10 Creative Art Unit themed – Mechanical Graffiti.
The week-long project in Bowen Lane was directed by art teachers and professional artists Ian and Lorrraine Tremewen, who worked on their own interpretation of Under One Sky in the mural on the adjacent wall, to simultaneously transform the laneway.
Concepts of mechanical unity, balance, and harmony reflect the idea of working to enhance community places and spaces by collaborating through the arts – under one sky.
